OK...but, even nuclear energy has it's cons, like for example, nuclear energy uses uranium, which ,unfortunatly, produces very dangerous radioactive waste. But, lets talk about the cons of building a reactor. First of all, it takes a long time and alot of money to build factories. And even though it doesn't produce air pollution, it will produce other types of pollution such as water pollution. Now, on to the good points about nuclear energy. As I said erlier, nuclear energy produces very little CO2. It needs very little fuel to generate lots of power. Uranium is cheap to mine and buy, and is easy to transport. It is less expensive than oil, coal, and natural gas and could produce energy even when oil and coal become scarce. Now think, how much people are jobless in Canada? Building a nuclear reactor will provide work for jobless people, and then they will earn money...
Professor Jessie knows a lot about the pros and cons of nuclear energy. She is a co-worker of Prof. Daisy and assists her in research and is helping her to find where the nuclear reactor should go if the government accepts their offer and chooses them. She was a childhood friend of Engineer Xin Yi. She doesn’t really trust Mr. Moneybags considering his history but tries to trust him for the good of the group.
